DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY ANATOMY

The Department of Veterinary Anatomy was created in the year 2020 as a part of Veterinary College and Research Institute, Theni with an aim to offer quality education to B.V.Sc&A.H. Undergraduate students in the subject of Veterinary Anatomy as per the Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education (MSVE, 2016) prescribed by Veterinary Council of India. Further, the department also provides research and extension services to undergraduate students, field veterinarians and farmers. The Department is also involved in preparation of skeleton of various animals and birds, wet and dry specimens and microscopic slides of various organs of different species for teaching and research purpose.

The following are the proposed objectives of the department:

  • To offer Undergraduate courses in Veterinary Anatomy
  • To provide technical knowledge to students, field veterinarians and farmers in anatomical aspects
  • To undertake research on anatomical structures and techniques

  • CCTV attachment for microscope

  • Dissections instruments like BP blade, BP handle, Forceps, Scissors etc

Courses offered

As per the MSVE 2016 regulations prescribed by VCI, the following course is being offered to the undergraduate students:

  • I Professional Year – B.V.Sc&A.H.
    • Veterinary Anatomy (Paper I and II) – 4+3 credit hours
