DEPARTMENT OF LIVESTOCK PRODUCTION AND MANAGEMENT

This Department was started in the year 2012, with the objective of teaching Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc.& AH) students on the scientific methods of livestock and poultry handling, breeding, feeding, housing and general management for improved production and productivity. It is offering under graduate courses as per the recommendations of Veterinary Council of India.

Objectives

Offering undergraduate courses for Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry students
Carrying out research on livestock and poultry farming systems to improve the productivity
Popularising scientific livestock and poultry farming activities

Infrastructure – Lab facilities

Modern Museum consisting of Livestock and Poultry breeds, housing models, animal handling equipments, climatological equipments etc.
Under Graduate lab equipped with various equipments for UG teaching.
Fully automated Poultry hatchery with the capacity of hatching 10,000 chick per week.
Animal Handling area.
