The constituent units of The Directorate of Extension Education works under the following Mandate
Transfer of livestock and poultry related technologies including natural resources management through frontline extension / change agents
Strengthening livestock and poultry research – extension linkage for developing need specific technologies
Promotion of livestock production eco-system through TANUVAS / entrepreneurs for sustaining livestock based livelihood.
KRISHI VIGYAN KENDRAS
The three Krishi Vigyan Kendras functioning at Kattupakkam, Kundrakudi and Namakkal are funded by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi with the following
objectives
To provide technical know-how in the field of Agriculture, Horticulture, Livestock, Poultry, Home Science, Agricultural Engineering and Fisheries etc.
To organize short term and long duration training programmes
To provide non-formal education by way of field trips, farm visits, farmers fairs, radio talks
To organize demonstrations on scientific practices to convince the farmers on latest technical knowledge
