At present, undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, postgraduate diploma and certain special academic programmes are offered in this College. Apart from the undergraduate programme – B.V.Sc. & A.H., postgraduate degrees like M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. are offered in 22 and 20 disciplines, respectively. Further, the college and its faculty are also associated with the conduct of PG diploma programmes, skill development courses and self-employment courses. For B.V.Sc. &A.H. programme, All India pattern of instruction specified by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) is followed since 2001. From the academic year 2010-11, the common syllabus and regulations for the PG programme proposed by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research is being followed. Thus, the educational programmes of the college are in line with national bodies. This helps the students to explore various job avenues at national level, apart from molding them to be competent enough to take up all national level competitive examinations. Besides these programmes, Continuous Professional Development programmes (CPD) are also offered for the field veterinarians of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services of different states, faculty from other Veterinary Colleges in the country, scientists from other institutes under Indian Council of Agricultural Research / Department of Biotechnology and for practicing veterinarians. M.Sc and Ph.D programmes in Biotechnology have also been offered for the life science graduates.





Financial assistance to the students of MVC

  • The UG and PG students are provided with financial assistance for pursuing their studies. This assistance in the form of scholarships is provided by the Government of Tamil Nadu, Government of India, private agencies and by philanthropists in India and abroad.

Students Counselling and Placement Cell

  • Students counselling and placement cell regularly conducting career guidance programmes for the undergraduate students. All the outgoing students and alumni are being encouraged to register in the placement cell for better opportunities.

Co-Curricular Activities

  • Co-curricular activities like Physical Education, National Service Scheme, National Cadets Corps, etc. are offered to students. It is mandatory for the undergraduate students to get involved in any of these activities.
