The Veterinary College and Research Institute, Orathanadu Library plays a vital role in the collection, development and dissemination of Veterinary Science information to meet the present and future needs of the Institute. The Library was established in the year 2012. The area of library is around 8,037.30 Square feet is functioning in second floor main building and partitioned into different sections such as circulation centre, E-resources centre, Reference section, Stock room, Xerox room, Journal Section, Technical Section and Staff Rooms. The main objective of the is to support the educational and research programs of the Veterinary College and Research Institute by providing access to information consistent with the present and anticipated educational and research functions if this institute. It started with a small collection of books mainly transferred from Madras Veterinary College, Chennai and Veterinary College and Research Institute, Namakkal, besides accumulating the vast collection of literature on Veterinary Science by its own purchase. The Library is open on weekdays from 09.00 a.m to 08.00 p.m. (Monday to Friday), from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on Saturdays and 9.00 am to 2.00 pm on Saturday. The library has a rich collection of books and journals in the field of Veterinary Science. Facilities are also provided to students and faculty for access to internet and online journals.
The Library Committee consists of the Dean, Professor and Head of various faculties of the College and Assistant Librarian. The Dean is the Chairman of the Library Committee and Officer-in-charge of the Library is Convenor of the Library Committee.

Consortium for e-Resources in Agriculture (CeRA)
Consortium for e-Resources in Agriculture (CeRA), an online journal consortium funded under NAIP of ICAR. CeRA provides access to about 2,800+ online journals covering various disciplines of agricultural sciences including veterinary and animal sciences.
