Veterinary Clinical Complex, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Theni has been established on 01.02.2021 with the main goal of providing quality veterinary clinical services to livestock and pet animals and imparting education to undergraduate students.
As per the Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education – 2016 regulations prescribed by the Veterinary Council of India, Veterinary Clinical Practice: VCP 311 (0+1) & VCP 411 (0+5) are being offered presently to undergraduate students.
Veterinary Clinical Complex is providing clinical services covering Medicine, Surgery and Gynaecological and Obstetrical cases to the farmers of Theni and nearby districts. During the year 2022-2023, an average of 206 bovine cases, 168 ovine and caprine cases, 228 canine cases and 300 other cases (equine, avian and feline) were being treated every month.
A well-equipped clinical lab with the facilities to handle various clinical samples and to carry out diagnostic works has been established with an Automated biochemical and haematology analyser. Every month, on an average of 80 samples are examined for various diagnoses.
Veterinary Clinical Complex extends ambulatory services for the neighbouring village - Dharmapuri from Monday to Friday (9.00 AM– 11.00 AM) throughout the year.
Veterinary Health Camps, Mass Contact Programmes, Infertility Treatment Programmes, Pet Animal Vaccination Camps and Awareness Programmes are regularly conducted at nearby villages and VCC, VCRI, Theni.
