• The admission strength (75%) available for that academic year will be filled by the candidates from Tamil Nadu through common PG entrance examination, the remaining 25% will be filled by ICAR.
• If there are any unfilled seats under TN quota, the same will be filled with candidates from other States who have applied and appeared for the entrance examination conducted by the TANUVAS.
• The candidates from other states will be considered for admission by maintaining a separate rank list only against the vacancies that may arise after filling the Tamil Nadu State quota.

• OGPA of not less than 6.50/10.00 under semester system or 2.75/4.00 under trimester system or 65% aggregate in the master degree is required to be eligible to apply. For SC/ST candidates, a minimum pass is sufficient.

• Candidates possessing a BVSc / BVSc & AH degree of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University or any other University recognized as equivalent thereof shall be eligible to apply. The candidates should have completed their degrees from colleges recognized by the Veterinary Council of India.

• M.Tech. (Food Technology): Candidates possessing a BTech (FPT / FT) degree of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University or candidates who have studied a FOUR-YEAR degree programme in Food Processing Technology / Food Technology / Food Process Engineering / Food Science & Nutrition / Dairy Technology/ Biotechnology shall be eligible to apply.
• M.Tech. (Dairy Technology / Dairy Chemistry): Candidates possessing a BTech (DT) degree of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University or candidates who have studied a FOUR-YEAR degree programme in Dairy Technology shall be eligible to apply
• M.Tech. (Poultry Technology): Candidates with a minimum OGPA of 2.75 out of 4.00 under trimester system or 6.50 out of 10.00 or 65% aggregate under semester pattern in undergraduate degree alone are eligible to apply for admission to M.Tech degree programme.
• M.Sc., Biotechnology: A Candidate with Bachelor degree in the disciplines of Biotechnology / Molecular Biology / Gene Technology / Animal Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Environmental Sciences / Genetics/ Marine Biology and Fisheries Sciences / other Life Sciences from recognized Universities shall be eligible to join in the course.

• OGPA of not less than 6.50/10.00 under semester system or 2.75/4.00 under trimester system or 65% aggregate in the master degree is required to be eligible to apply. For SC/ST candidates, a minimum pass is sufficient

• Candidates with B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree and Master’s degree in the concerned field of specialization from a recognized University shall alone be eligible to apply (Except Veterinary Biotechnology, Livestock Products Technology, Veterinary Biochemistry and Veterinary Medicine).
• For Ph.D. in Veterinary Biotechnology, Candidates with M.V.Sc. degree in any discipline except Animal Husbandry Economics, Veterinary Extension and Bio-statistics, shall be eligible to apply.
• For Ph.D. in Livestock Products Technology, candidates with M.V.Sc. degree in Dairy Science (or) Meat Science and Technology (or) Livestock Products Technology with a basic B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree recognized as equivalent there to shall be eligible to apply.
• For Ph.D. in Veterinary Biochemistry, candidates with M.V.Sc. degree in Veterinary Biochemistry or M.Sc. degree in Biochemistry with basic B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree recognized as equivalent thereto shall be eligible to apply.
• For Ph.D. in Veterinary Medicine, candidates with M.V.Sc. degree in Veterinary Medicine/Veterinary Clinical Medicine/Veterinary Preventive Medicine with basic B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree recognized as equivalent thereto shall be eligible to apply.

• Ph.D. in Food Technology in Processing Technology / Food Technology in Process Engineering / Food Technology in Safety and Quality:
• Candidates applying for admission to Ph.D. in Food Technology in Processing Technology, Food Technology in Process Engineering and Food Technology in Safety and Quality shall be eligible to apply only if they have a minimum of FOUR-YEAR completed Undergraduate Degree programme in B.Tech. Food Technology / Food Sciences & Technology / Food Processing Technology/ Food Process Engineering / Dairy Science / Dairy Technology / Dairy Engineering / Bio-Technology with M.Tech. degree in Food Technology / Food Sciences & Technology / Food Processing Technology / Food Process Engineering/ Processing and Food Engineering/ Dairy Science/ Dairy Technology /DairyChemistry / Dairy Microbiology / Dairy Engineering/ Bio-Technology / Food Safety and Quality from a recognized university.

• Candidates applying for admission to Ph.D. in Dairy Technology shall be eligible to apply only if they have completed FOUR-YEAR Undergraduate Degree programme in B.Tech. Dairy Technology / Dairy Chemistry and TWO-YEAR postgraduate programme in M.Tech. Dairy Technology from a recognized university.

• Candidates with Master’s degree in the disciplines of Biotechnology (M.Sc./M.Tech.), Molecular Biology, Gene Technology, Animal Biotechnology (M.Sc.) Biochemistry, Microbiology, Environmental Sciences, Genetics, Marine Biology, Life Sciences and Fisheries Sciences (except Fisheries Economics, Fisheries Statistics and Fisheries Extension) from recognized Universities with first class shall be eligible to apply.

• Candidates possessing B.V.Sc. / B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University or any other University recognized as equivalent thereto shall be eligible to apply with a minimum OGPA of 2.75 / 4.00 in trimester system or 6.50/ 10.00 in semester system or 50% in conventional system. A minimum pass is sufficient for SC/ ST candidates.

• Candidates possessing a BVSc & AH / MBBS / BSc Agriculture / BTech Food Technology / BTech Poultry Production Technology / BTech Food Science Faculty / BTech Dairy Technology / MSc Nutrition and Dietetics / MSc Food and Nutrition / MSc Home Science / BTech Biotechnology / MSc Biochemistry or equivalent degrees are eligible. But, BSc degree obtained through correspondence (distance mode) is not eligible.

• Candidates with Undergraduate / Postgraduate degrees in Veterinary Science Agriculture / Horticulture / Food Science / Food Technology / Dairy Science / Dairy Technology / Home Science / Nutrition & Dietetics / Biology / Microbiology / Botany / Zoology / Chemistry / Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Life Sciences and B. Voc. in Dairy or Food Science are eligible. Candidates who have obtained any one of the above degrees through correspondence (distance mode) are not eligible.

• A candidate with B.V.Sc. / B.V.Sc. & A.H. / B.Tech. / B.E. / B.S. / B. Pharmacy / B.Sc. degree in the disciplines of Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetic Engineering, Microbiology, Genetics, Environmental Biology or any other relevant disciplines are eligible to apply.
