The college has a full fledged indoor stadium with gym facilities in addition to facilities for outdoor games like cricket, foot ball, volley ball, basket ball, etc. Students are motivated to actively participate in the state and national level meets
Physical education is offered as one of the compulsory co-curricular activities for students admitted from 2009-10
Annual Sports Day of Madras Veterinary College is being conducted every year. The overall team championship for sports and the championship for games are offered for the best performance. Individual Women Championship, Individual Men Championship and winners of various games like volley ball, table tennis, basket-ball and athletes are awarded with prizes and medals

Students’ Achievents in Inter-University/ College Competitions

XX ICAR Agri Sports and Games Meet 2019-20 was held from March 1 to 5, 2020 at Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati
Madras veterinary College students participated in a Hockey tournament conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology Kelambakkamon 3.4.2020 and 4.4.2020
Madras Veterinary College Students participated in a tournament, conducted by Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University on 11.3.2021 and 12.3.2021. Our Cricket and Hockey teams entered into semifinals and Volley ball team entered into quarter finals. Boys Football team and girls Volley ball team participated in the match
The Madras Veterinary College men's cricket team participated in the Dr. Siva and Dr. Kuberan Memorial cricket tournament held from 12.09.2022 to 16.09.2022 at Stanley Medical College and emerged as winners defeating 22 teams. Selvan V Manimaran of IV B.V.Sc & AH was adjudged as Best batsman of the tournament, Man of the series while Selvan M. Anantharaman was adjudged as the best bowler of the tournament and Prakash was adjudged man of the match
Overall Championship in the Dr.J.Jayalalithaa Fisheries, University Inter-collegiate sports competition KURUKSHETRA on 14th of July2022
The students of MVC won the overall championship in the above tournament. Our students were the winners in Women’s throwball, Chess (women), Football (Boys)
MVC students excelled in the All Medical Sports held at Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai (INTERMEDICAL SPORTS FIESTA 2022 from 19.10.2022 to 22.10.2022) and won in many games

College Annual Sports Day 2022 – August 5, 2022

The Annual Sports Day of Madras Veterinary College was conducted on August 5th, 2022 at the College Playground. The Sports Day was declared open by the Chief Guest Col Jarnail Singh, commander, NCC Group Headquarters, Madras “A”, Chennai and Dr.R.Karunakaran, Ph.D, Dean, Madras Veterinary College. Athletic events were conducted for the students and various games for the faculty and staff of Madras Veterinary College was held on that day. Dr.D.Kathiresan, Ph.D. Former Director of Clinics, TANUVAS presided over the function and felicitated the students for their participation in various games at College and University level. Earlier, Dr.S. Ramesh, Ph.D., proposed the welcome address while Dr. S. Ezhilarasi, Assistant Director of Physical Education, delivered the vote of thanks. The overall team championship for Sports for the year 2019 was bagged by the Third year of the college and the championship for games was won by IV year for their stellar performance. Under Individual performance the following were the honours received by the students for their excellence in sports activities of Madras Veterinary College.
