DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY PHYSIOLOGY AND BIOCHEMISTRY

The Department of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry was startedin the year 2020 as a part of Veterinary College and Research Institute, Theni with an aim to offer quality education to undergraduate students in the discipline of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry as per Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education (MSVE, 2016) prescribed by Veterinary Council of India. Apart from this, the department is also involved in research and extension activities.

The following are the proposed objectives of the department:

  • To impart education in Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry for undergraduate students
  • To carry out research in Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry.

Courses offered

As perthe MSVE 2016 regulations prescribed by VCI, the following course is being offered to the undergraduate students:

  • I Professional Year B.V.Sc & A.H.
    • Veterinary Physiology (Paper I and II) – 4 +1 credit hours
  • II Professional Year B.V.Sc & A.H.
    • Veterinary Biochemistry (Paper I and II) – 2 +1 credit hours
