DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY MICROBIOLOGY

The Department of Veterinary Microbiology was established in the year 2020 for offering Veterinary Microbiology courses for B.V.Sc &A.H. undergraduate degree programme. The department aims at imparting strong theoretical and practical knowledge on various bacterial, viral and fungal diseases affecting animals and birds. Further, fundamental knowledge on Veterinary immunology is also provided. Apart from education, the department works towards the objective to establish a laboratory for research and diagnostic purposes benefitting the student and faculty researchers and farmers.

The following are the proposed objectives of the department:

  • To offer quality education to students
  • To establish a diagnostic laboratory to diagnose various diseases affecting animals and birds
  • To carry out research work on different arenas of Veterinary Microbiology benefitting the farmers, fellow researchers and the scientific community

Courses offered

As per the MSVE 2016 regulations prescribed by VCI, the following course is being offered to the undergraduate students:

  • II Professional Year – B.V.Sc&A.H.
    • Veterinary Microbiology (Paper I and II) – 3 + 2credit hours
