Genesis

The Education Cell was started from the academic year 2002-2003 onwards to look after the Co-ordination of academic work. The concept of formation of Education Cell is to monitor and improve the academic performance of Under-graduate and Post-graduate students. The cell works under the direct control of the Dean, Maras Veterinary College. The cell was formed as a separate department to function with adequate staff strength from in the year November 2011 onwards.

Objectives

  • To prepare academic schedules and various activities connected to Under-graduate and Post-graduate education
  • To facilitate smooth conduct of classes and examinations for UG and PG progammes.

Facilities Available

  • Documentation of the department is fully computerized with internet facility.
  • Class rooms with Audio visual facilities.
  • Smart class rooms with air-condition facility.
  • Two Examination Halls with Audio facilities with a capacity of 140 students each.
  • High speed printing and copying for question papers preparation of records etc.
  • Student Support Cell established under ICAR-NAHEP-IDP programme.

Activities

    Under-Graduate Education

    • Arrangement of orientation programme during first professional year.
    • Taking effective measures to prevent ragging in the college campus and hostel by assigning anti-ragging duties in compliance with instructions issued by the University.
    • Conducting the registration for each professional year.
    • Preparation of list of course teachers and finalizing the time table.
    • Preparation of academic calendar.
    • Preparation of Internal Assessment schedule and arrangement of examination hall to conduct the same.
    • Verification of correctness of internal mark entries in UG-Student Information System for onward transmission to university.
    • Allocation of ward counselors to each student
    • Processing and distribution of various scholarships to the students.
    • Conduct of CAP examination for failed students
    • Arranging Internship training programme for the students, processing and distribution internship allowance and arranging for final viva-voce examination.
    • Assisting the University in the selection of meritorious students for International training programme.

    Post-Graduate Education

    • Circulating commencement and closure date of semester to the students and departments.
    • Conducting registration for PG students.
    • Sending filled in registration cards to University for approval after verification.
    • Preparation of time table for Mid-Term and conduct of examination in common examination hall.
    • Verification of internal and practical marks received from the course teachers for onward transmission to the university.
    • Conduct of semester final examination.
    • Checking and forwarding of programme of course work and research work for Faculty Dean approval.
    • Processing the proposals of comprehensive qualifying examination (CQE) and addressing the External experts identified by the University for calling of CQE question paper.
    • Onward transmission of synopsis to the University
    • Verification of thesis submitted by the students for onward transmission to University.
    • Preparation of report cards

Student Services

  • Issuing bonafide certificates to the students for scholarships, educational loan etc.
  • Making arrangements to issue ID card cum Library card
  • Communication of academic and administrative matters to the students.
  • Arrangement of study trips
  • Arrangement of bus pass, train pass and travel concessions.
  • Preparation of Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate
  • Preparation of awards / medal lists to be distributed during University convocation and college day.
  • Preparation of academic calendar and course catalogue for the corresponding year
  • Maintenance of audiovisual system and monitoring cleanness of the UG and PG class rooms at student day centre.
  • Providing any other facilities requested by the students in consultation with the Dean and concerned Authorities.
