LIVESTOCK FARM COMPLEX

The Department of Livestock Farm Complex was established in the year 2020 as a part of Veterinary College and Research Institute, Theni with the objective to provide quality education, research and extension services to the B.V.Sc & A.H. undergraduate students, field veterinarians and farmers.

The following are the proposed objectives of the department:

  • To impart hands on practical training and farm practices to the undergraduate students
  • To maintain model unit for the progressive farmers,self-help group members and rural unemployed youths
  • To provide training programmes to the field veterinarians and farmers regarding newly developed technologies in animal production, health and extension
  • To supply breeding stock,fodder seeds and slips to the farmers

Courses offered

As per the MSVE 2016 regulations prescribed by VCI, the following course is being offered to the undergraduate students

  • III Professional year – B.V.Sc & AH
    • Livestock Farm Practices – 0+2 credit hours
