ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Namakkal is a peripheral unit of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Chennai with funding of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi functioning since 13.10.2004. Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Namakkal, is a centre for transfer of technologies from lab to various groups like Farming Community, Self Help Groups, Rural Youths, Extension Personnel etc., through organizing various events like Trainings, On Farm Testing, Front Line Demonstrations and Advisory services regularly. To impart the scientific skills and knowledge among the farm women, farmers & physically challenged people and to adopt the scientific technologies in their farms, KVK has conducted various training programmes, awareness campaigns, exhibitions, demonstrations, field days and camps during the period in the following the subjects as follows

KVK Namakkal was selected as Specialized KVK for Small Holder livestock and Poultry farming by ICAR and allotted with the budget outlay of 15 lakhs and under this, one fish cum duck pond as integrated farming was created in the KVK premises, one bore well was digged for water recharge and diagnostic lab yet to be constructed (7.5 lakhs) and purchased farm and lab equipment (7.5 lakhs) to exhibit innovative technologies in livestock farming and farm mechanisation to equip small holder farmer in the current era.
Village Adoption Programme
Under Village adoption programme, Anniyapuram and Peramandampalayam villages were selected and activities being carried out for interdisciplinary and comprehensive approach for holistic development of the villages, Special activities in Tribal sub plan at Kollihills.
