The Department of Dairy Business Management was established in the year 2014, with the following Objectives:
Objectives
To provide quality education and training to individuals preparing for careers in Dairy Science and Technology.
To carryout research in dairy production, processing and consumerism.
To extend assistance to the food industries through the facilities of the University.
Education
A Total instructional credits of 26 (17+9), encomparing different aspects of dairy production, marketing, business management and ICT, are offered to the Under-Graduate students of B.Tech. The students are given informative hand-outs and sufficient hands-on, so as enable them to get thorough insight of the courses and to develop the observational and inquisitive skills of students.
The students are motivated to take-up mini projects, so as to inculcate them with research aptitude.
Extension & Research
The package of entrepreneurial skills are instilled in such a way that the students become job-providers in-lieu of becoming job-seekers.
The academia – industry meet / lectures are arranged regularly, through which the experts from industry would share their experience and expertise amongst students, culminating them graduates of industry ready.
The study tours are organised for third year students to visit major dairy plants including AMUL, Gujarat to learn about various facets of dairy production, processing and marketing.
Highlights
Celebrated the World Home Economics Day on 21.03.2022 and competitions for creating 'Wealth from waste' and 'Smart Budgeting' were conducted for the Self Help Groups (SHG’s) of CFDT adopted village - Koduveli
Celebrated ‘World Youth Skills Day 2022’ on 27.07.2022 under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations by conducting workshop on “Entrepreneurial skills” at the Campus. Video lessons were played to impart skills on producing'Ice-cream', 'Tomato pickle' and 'Noodles'.
