EDUCATION CELL

The Education Cell is functioning from 01.04.2011 onwards to look after the Co-ordination of academic work. The concept of formation of Education Cell is to monitor and improve the academic performance of Under-graduate and Post-graduate students. The cell works under the direct control of the Dean, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Namakkal. The cell was formed as a separate department to function with adequate staff strength from the year 2012 - 2013 onwards.

Objectives

  • To coordinate various activities connected to Under-graduate and Post-graduate education
  • To facilitate smooth conduct of classes and examinations for UG and PG programmes.

Facilities Available

  • Fully computerized with internet facility for documentation of academic activities.
  • Class rooms with computerised audio visual facilities.
  • Examination Halls equipped with uninterrupted power supply, Audio facilities, individual writing tables etc.
  • High speed printing and photo copying facilities

Activities

Under-graduate Education

  • Arrangement of orientation programme during first semester.
  • Taking effective measures to prevent ragging in the college campus and hostel by assigning anti-ragging duties in compliance with instructions issued by the University.
  • Conducting the registration for each semester.
  • Sending filled in registration cards to University for approval after verification.
  • Preparation of list of course teachers and finalizing the time table for each semester.
  • Preparation of semester calendar.
  • Preparation of Monthly test / Internal Evaluation schedule and arrangement of examination hall to conduct the same.
  • Verification of correctness of internal mark entries in UG-Student Information System for onward transmission to university.
  • Allocation of ward counsellors to each student.
  • Processing and distribution of various scholarships to the students.
  • Conducting Annual Board Examinations for each and every batch
  • Conduct of CAP examination for unsuccessful students.
  • Arranging Internship training programme for the students, processing and distribution of internship allowance and arranging final viva-voce examination.
  • Assisting the University in the selection of 10 students for Michigan and Virginia tech Universities for the Internship/externship training for 45 days and 30 days respectively on the basis of V ABE OGPA.
  • Monitoring the overall student progress

Post-graduate Education

  • Circulating commencement and closure date of semester to the students and departments.
  • Conducting registration for PG students.
    Sending filled in registration cards to University for approval after verification.
  • Preparation of time table for internal evaluation and conduct of examination in common examination hall.
  • Verification of internal and practical marks received from the course teachers for onward transmission to the university.
  • Conduct of semester final examination.
  • Checking and forwarding of programme of course work and research work for Faculty Dean approval.
  • Processing the proposals of comprehensive qualifying examination (CQE) and addressing the External experts identified by the University for calling of CQE question paper.
  • Onward transmission of synopsis to the University
  • Verification of Thesis submitted by the students for onward transmission to University.
  • Preparation of report cards

Student Services

  • Issuing bonafide certificates to the students for scholarships, loans etc.
  • Making arrangements to issue ID card and Library card
  • Communication of academic and administrative matters to the students.
  • Arrangement of study trips
  • Arrangement of bus pass, train pass and travel concessions.
  • Arranging All India study tour for the final year students.
  • Preparation of Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate
  • Preparation of awards / medal lists to be distributed during University convocation and college day.
  • Preparation of academic calendar and course catalogue for the corresponding year
  • Providing any other facilities requested by the students in consultation with the Dean and concerned Authorities.
  • Conducting soft skill development courses for the Undergraduate students
