EDUCATION CELL


The college is offering undergraduate course in Veterinary and Animal Sciences with annual intake of 106 students including VCI (15 %) and NRI students (6%). So far 3142 B.V.Sc. & A.H., students were admitted in 41 batches and 2385 students were graduated. The syllabus and curriculum for B.V.Sc. & A.H. course is being followed as specified by Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education (MSVE) 2016 regulations of Veterinary Council of India.

M.V.Sc. programme was started in the year 1993 in six departments and at present 17 departments are offering postgraduate programme. So far 33 batches have been admitted with a total strength of 676 students and 511 students have completed their master degree. Doctoral programme was offered from the year 1995 in two departments and now, 16 departments are offering Ph.D., programme. So far 25 batches have been admitted with a total strength of 205 students and 160 students have completed their doctoral programme. Post Graduate Regulations and Syllabus – 2022 (As per ICAR Academic Regulations - 2021 and TANUVAS Recommendations - 2022) is being followed for postgraduate studies.


Objectives

  • To conduct academic and co-curricular activities to Under-graduate, Post-graduate and Ph.D. scholars
  • To enable the educational activities viz., conducting classes and examinations for UG PG and Diploma programmes
  • To facilitate the students for obtaining scholarship and fellowships offered by various agencies

Facilities Available

  • Five fully furnished class rooms including one A/c class room with audiovisual aids like computer, LCD projectors, Wi-fi facility and PA systems are functioning in the main campus
  • Two smart class rooms with digital podium and air-condition facility
  • All class rooms are provided with purified drinking RO water facility
  • High speed printing and copying machine for preparation of question papers and records etc.,
  • Two examination halls available to conduct the examinations for UG and PG Education

UG Educational Activities

  • Enrollment of all students in UMIS portal
  • Adopting anti-Ragging measures strictly as per UGC norms in order to keep the campus ragging free
  • Preparation of time-table and exam schedule for each batch of B.V.Sc. & A.H students
  • Scholarship enrollment and disbursement
  • Compilation of marks and attendance and send it to the university
  • Student’s group Insurance
  • Temporary mark sheet and Attendance benefits to students
  • ICAR-JRF coaching class and other competitive exams to UG students
  • Maintenance of individual file for UG students
  • Maintenance of Admission registers, Fee Register, Watching Register etc.
  • Conduction of Internal, Practical, Annual Board, CAP exams
  • Preparation of UG Awardees for convocation
  • Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate to the UG students
  • Bank Loan and Bonafide certificate to the UG students
  • Arrangement of Students internship programme
  • Refund of tuition fee for First graduate, disabled and SC/ST students and caution deposits to all students after completion of degree programme
  • Conducting Parents–Teacher Meetings for all batches to discuss student progress and provide guidance for academic and overall development
  • Organizing guest lecture on “Mental Health and Stress Management” with consultation sessions for all batches to promote well-being and effective stress management.

  • TANUVAS Merit scholarship, National Talent Scholarship enrolment and disbursement
  • Conduction of Mid Term and Annual Board Examination

  • Preparation of PG Awardees for convocation

  • Conduction of Comprehensive qualifying examination (CQE)
  • Formation of advisory committee, Programme of course work and Programme of research work for Faculty Dean approval
  • Onward transmission of synopsis to the University
  • Verification of thesis submitted by the students for onward transmission to university
