Livestock Farm Complex

The Livestock Farm Complex (LFC) has been established as per the guidelines of Veterinary Council of India to train the Under graduate. students in the Livestock and Poultry farm activities. In compliance with the Minimum Standard of Veterinary Education (MSVE 2016) of Veterinary Council of India, to demonstrate Animal Production techniques, the existing sheep facilities of Sheep farm have been converted into Cattle shed, Poultry Shed (2 Nos.) and Piggery shed (2 Nos.) to accommodate the required numbers of the respective species.

The department offers the following diagnostic services on regular basis: Isolation of bacteria, viruses and fungi, culture of bacteria and determination of their sensitivity to antibiotics,virus propagation in cell culture, detection of mycotoxins in feed and immunodiagnosis and molecular diagnosis of infectious diseases of domestic animals and poultry.

  • A horse stable has been constructed to accommodate two thoroughbred horses.
  • A Judging pavilion cum handling room has been newly constructed.
