Funds sanctioned under National Livestock Mission (NLM) – 2025–2026 for implementation of the programme under SLS Code: TN340 with a financial sanction of Rs. 5.00 lakhs.

Veterinary Emergency Response Unit (VERU)

The Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli, is actively involved in organizing Veterinary Emergency Response Unit (VERU) training programmes for veterinarians and field functionaries on disaster preparedness and management of animals during natural calamities. The department regularly conducts disaster management training programmes, simulation exercises, emergency response training and awareness programmes on animal rescue and livestock health management during flood and disaster situations.
