  • UG courses are offered as per the VCI- MSVE 2016. At present the student strength of our college is 585 with 246 boys and 339 girls.

  • PG courses are offered as per the Post Graduate Regulations 2009 & 2022. At present the student strength of our college is 23 with 15 boys and 14 girls.

  • There are five number of gallery type lecture halls with blackboard, smart board and LCD projector & on e Exam Hall to facilitate teaching. The Students during their III & IV Professional year are given exposure to clinics at Veterinary clinical complex (VCC).
  • Various scholarships are provided to students for pursuing their studies by the various societies and Government and Non-Government Organizations. The details of number of students receiving such fellowships for the academic year 2024-25 are given below

  • Educational Campaign

The Department of Animal Husbandry Extension Education, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli conducted an educational campaign in Panneerthu village on 09.01.2024 to create awareness about veterinary education. 2020-21 batch students (79 Students) participated in the educational campaign.


  • World Tuberculosis Day - 2024

The Department of Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli conducted “World Tuberculosis Day - 2024” to create awareness about Tuberculosis and its prevention at Government Higher Secondary School, Vannokonenthal village, Tirunelveli. 2019-20 batch students (76 students) of Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli participated in the program.


  • Jambu Dweep Prakadanam Day - 2024

“Jambu Dweep Prakadanam Day - 2024” was celebrated on 16.06.2024 on at Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli. On this Day, the great Maruthu Brothers of Sivagangai put into action a visionary strategic document, popularly called the ”Jambu Dweep Prakadanam”. All UG and PG students were participated in the celebration. The students also participated in the various competitions.

“Engagement with Budding Vets” programme conducted by VIRBAC Animal Health Private Limited for the benefit of fourth professional year students of Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli on 27.0.2024.

  • World Environment Day 2024 Celebrations

“World Environment Day 2024” was celebrated on 05.06.2024 at Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli. On this occasion, an awareness rally was held in Kalakudi village, Manur taluk, on the theme "Break Plastic Pollution".

  • Anti Ragging Week - 2024

Anti-Ragging Week - 2024 was celebrated on behalf of Tirunelveli Veterinary College and Research Institute from 12.08.2024 to 18.08.2024. English Speech Competition, Logo Making Competition and E-Poster Making Competition were organized among the students and prizes were distributed.

75th Republic Day was celebrated on 26.01.2025 at Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli with utmost enthusiasm and the zeal.


  • Swachhta Hi Seva - 2024

The NSS unit of Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli, organized the "Swachhta Hi Seva 2024" campaign from 17.09.2024 to 02.10.2024 on the college campus and the TANUVAS adopted village with the objective of raising awareness about the cleanliness among rural folks.

  • Sixty Four (64) students of first batch (2012-13 & 2013-14) have joined as Veterinary Assistant Surgeon in Tamil Nadu Animal Husbandry department during 2017-18.
  • Two students (02) of 2012-13 batch have joined as Assistant Manager (Grade A) in Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).
  • One hundred and twelve students of 2014-15, 2015-16 & 2016-17 have joined Veterinary Assistant Surgeon in Tamil Nadu Animal Husbandry department during 2022-23.
  • Thirty Eight (38) students of 2017-18 batch undergoing PG Studies (JRF & PG students studying in Tamil Nadu) & Forty two (42) students are working in Private Sectors.
