The Placement Cell of Veterinary College and Research Institute (VCRI), Tirunelveli, organized a series of expert lectures, career guidance programmes, and placement initiatives to enhance students’ professional competencies, industry exposure, and global career readiness.

On 18 June 2024, at Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli, Dr. Deepan Kishore, Medical Director, Neel Veterinary Hospital, Oklahoma City, USA, interacted with the final-year B.V.Sc. & A.H. students and delivered an insightful session on small animal clinical practice in the United States. He shared his professional experiences and provided a comprehensive overview of the scope of small animal practice in the private sector. The session covered key aspects such as licensing procedures for veterinary practice in the USA, eligibility requirements for higher education, pathways for specialization, and opportunities to join academic institutions as faculty, thereby giving students a clear understanding of international clinical standards and career prospects abroad.

On 03 August 2024, at Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli, Dr. Jeba Sujana D. Gnanadhas from Cross Creek Veterinary Hospital, Texas, USA, delivered a detailed lecture focusing on international career opportunities for veterinary graduates. She explained the step-by-step certification and licensing processes required to practice abroad, particularly in the United States, including ECFVG, PAVE, NAVLE, and BCSE. The session also highlighted eligibility criteria, preparation strategies, application procedures, and long-term career prospects, equipping students with practical knowledge to pursue global veterinary careers.

On 06 August 2024, at Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli, Dr. N. Sivasubramanian, Ph.D. Scholar at Oklahoma State University, USA, delivered an informative session on pursuing postgraduate education abroad. He provided detailed guidance on various entrance examinations such as GRE, TOEFL, and IELTS, explaining their structure, scoring systems, and recommended preparation strategies. He also elaborated on university selection, admission procedures, statement of purpose preparation, scholarship opportunities, and funding options, thereby motivating students to explore advanced academic and research opportunities.

On 08 August 2024, at Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli, Dr. Badineedi Hanumanth Rao, Technical Executive - Livestock Nutrition at Bentoli Agri Nutrition Pvt. Ltd., Trichy, delivered a comprehensive lecture on diverse career opportunities in the private veterinary sector. He provided an in-depth overview of employment avenues in poultry production, pharmaceutical industries, animal nutrition companies, vaccine and biological product manufacturing units, and the rapidly growing pet care industry, while also emphasizing the essential skills required to excel in these sectors.

On 16 September 2024, at Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli, Dr. B. Ganesh Kumar, Principal Scientist and Head of Human Resource Management at NAARM, Hyderabad, delivered an enlightening lecture on career prospects for veterinarians in the management sector. He introduced students to Agribusiness Management (ABM), leading B-Schools, and relevant competitive examinations, while also discussing preparation strategies, study materials, and career pathways in both public and private sectors.

On 04 October 2024, at Veterinary College and Research Institute,Tirunelveli, Thiru. M. Ilayaraja, IFS, Deputy Director of Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve, delivered an inspiring lecture on the Indian Forest Service as a career. He explained the roles and responsibilities of IFS officers in conservation and sustainable resource management, detailed the examination pattern and preparation strategies, and highlighted career growth opportunities within the service.

On 18 November 2024, at Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli, Dr. T. Sankara Saravanan delivered a comprehensive lecture on civil services preparation. He explained the structure of the Civil Services Examination, suggested standard reference materials, and guided students on effective preparation strategies, time management, and the importance of consistent effort and self-discipline for achieving success in administrative services.

On 06 November 2024, at Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli, the Placement Cell organized a Campus Interview Drive with participation from reputed organizations such as Heritage Foods (Dairy), Ayurvet Pharma, Suguna Foods, ABT Foods, Mohan Breeder Farm, Sakthi Poultry Pvt. Ltd., Digilence Laboratory (Pondicherry), and the 1962 Mobile Veterinary Unit. The programme provided an excellent platform for graduates to interact with industry representatives and explore employment opportunities, with a total of 92 graduates participating and benefiting from the recruitment initiative.

On 26 June 2025, at Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli, Dr. S. Harish Kumar, Veterinary Officer in the Remount Veterinary Corps (RVC) of the Indian Army, delivered an insightful lecture on the role of veterinarians in the armed forces. He elaborated on responsibilities related to animal health management, logistics, and operational readiness, and shared his personal experiences regarding the selection process, emphasizing discipline, leadership qualities, physical fitness, and adaptability required for service in the Indian Army.

On 19 February 2026, Dr. S. Mugunthan, Chief General Manager and Chief Information Security Officer at RBI, Mumbai, delivered a detailed lecture on employment opportunities in nationalized banks, private banking institutions, and NABARD. He offered a comprehensive overview of career prospects in government services, agriculture-related sectors, and the banking industry.

On 07 November 2025, at Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli, the Placement Cell organized a Campus Interview Drive with participation from reputed organizations such as Suguna Foods (Broiler and Breeder), Sakthi Poultry Pvt Ltd., Sihil Pharma Pvt Ltd, Venky’s (India) Limited, Supertails Hospital, S.S. Pet Clinic Thai Veterinary Hospital and 1962 - Mobile Veterinary Unit. The programme served as an outstanding platform for graduates to engage with industry representatives and explore career opportunities, with 76 graduates actively participating and benefiting from the recruitment drive.
