EDUCATION

CFDT is a constituent unit of TANUVAS which offers degree programmes in B.Tech (Food Technology) since 2006 approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and accredited to Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) with the adoption of National syllabus framed by Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Government of India. A unique degree programme in B.Tech (Dairy Technology) has been introduced from the academic year 2014 - 2015 for generating skilled manpower to meet the requirement of Dairy co-operative union and Private Dairy industries. Post graduate degree programme in M.Tech (Food Technology), M.Tech (Dairy Technology), M.Tech (Dairy Chemistry) and Ph.D (Food Technology) are being offered to accommodate various disciplines converging towards food processing which plays a major role in guaranteeing food security and safety of ever-growing population.

B.Tech. Food Technology 4 Years (8 Semesters) HSC with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
B.Tech. Dairy Technology 4 Years (8 Semesters) HSC with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
M.Tech. Food Technology 2 Years (4 Semesters) Candidates possessing a B.Tech. (FPT / FT) degree of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University or candidates who have studied a FOUR YEAR degree programme in Food Processing Technology / Food Technology / Food Process Engineering / Food Science & Nutrition / Dairy Technology/ Biotechnology shall be eligible to apply
M.Tech. Dairy Technology 2 Years (4 Semesters) Candidates possessing a B.Tech. (DT) degree of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University or candidates who have studied a FOUR YEAR degree programme in Dairy Technology shall be eligible to apply.
M.Tech. Dairy Chemistry 2 Years (4 Semesters) Candidates possessing a B.Tech. (DT) degree of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University or candidates who have studied a FOUR YEAR degree programme in Dairy Technology shall be eligible to apply.
Ph.D. Food Technology 3 Years (6 Semesters) Candidates applying for admission to PhD in Food Technology, should have studied a minimum of FOUR YEARS Undergraduate Degree programme – B.Tech. / B.E / B.V.Sc / BSc in Food Technology / Food Sciences & Technology / Food Processing Technology/ Food Process Engineering / Food Science & Nutrition / Dairy Science / Dairy Technology / Dairy Chemistry / Dairy Microbiology / Dairy Engineering / Biotechnology / Livestock Products Technology with Master degree in any one of the above disciplines in regular stream shall be eligible to apply and candidates with M.Tech. / M.E. / M.V.Sc. / M.Sc. degree in Food Technology / Food Sciences and Technology / Food Processing Technology / Food Process Engineering / Post Harvest Technology / Food Science & Nutrition / Dairy Science / Dairy Technology / Dairy Chemistry / Dairy Microbiology / Dairy Engineering/ Bio-Technology / Livestock Products Technology in regular stream shall be eligible to apply
