  • 1980- Farm Advisory and Consultancy for Livestock Entrepreneurial Projects
  • 1990- Wildlife Club of Madras Veterinary College was started
  • 2005- Started the self-financing Human Resource Development (HRD) unit in the Department of Animal Biotechnology
  • 2012- Started the self-financing Biotechnology Service Unit (BSU) in the Department of Animal Biotechnology
  • 2013- Started the self-financing IVF & ICSI training in the Department of Animal Biotechnology
  • 2020- Started Roof-Top Garden – Training and sale of Greens Department of Agronomy
  • Screening for Tuberculosis in Elephants during Annual Rejuvenation Camps

Recently Organised

  • International Conference on Livestock- Food Security and Food Safety challenges Opportunities and Strategies - 2020, conducted on January 28-29, 2020
  • International webinar on “Perspectives in wildlife health and conservation” for the forest and zoo veterinarians and veterinary students was conducted on 29.07.2020 in connection with the International Tiger Day-2020
  • On August 10th 2020, as part of the “World Lion Day-2020”celebrations, online competitions (Quiz, painting, essay and slogan-writing themed on lions) for students and general public were organized to create awareness on conservation of lions
  • The “Wildlife Week-2021” was celebrated between 04.10.2021 and 08.10.2021
  • The 25th National level training programme on “In vitro fertilization of farm animal oocytes and Co-culture” was organized by the Department of Animal Biotechnology, Faculty of Basic Sciences between 24.11.2021 and 14.12.2021
  • Organised three One day “Human Resource Development Programmes /awareness programmes on Government Policies and Plans in each of the SC clusters” in Chengalpattu, Vellore and Kanchipuram districts with a financial assistance from the ICAR Development Grant for 130 farmers in March 2022
  • Tree planting was held in the MVC Campus on 05.06.2022 during World Environment Day
  • A training on ‘Handling Wild Animal Emergencies’ was conducted by the Department of Wildlife Science, Faculty of Basic Sciences, Madras Veterinary College, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, on 20.09.2022 and 21.09.2022
  • National webinar on 29.12.2021 at Madras Veterinary College regarding "Sensitization on the Establishment of Rooftop Kitchen Garden for Improving the Nutritional Security of Urban People”
