DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY PHYSIOLOGY AND BIOCHEMISTRY

The Department of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry was established in 2021 at Veterinary College and Research institute, Udumalpet, with an aim to impart education to undergraduate students in Veterinary Physiology and Veterinary biochemistry as per the Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education (MSVE 2016) prescribed by VCI.

Objectives

Imparting education to undergraduate in the disciplines Veterinary Physiology and Veterinary Biochemistry.
Carrying out research in Veterinary Physiology.
To formulate and carryout research projects with financial assistance from the University / External funding agencies.

Education

The following courses are being offered to the undergraduate students:

I Professional Year B.V.Sc & A.H.

Veterinary Physiology (Paper I & II) – 4 +1 credit hours

II Professional Year B.V.Sc & A.H.

Veterinary Biochemistry (Paper I & II) – 2 +1 credit hours

Department is well equipped with instruments required to impart quality education to undergraduate students in the disciplines namely Veterinary Physiology and Veterinary Biochemistry. It has well equipped facilities to analyse all Hematological, Clinical Biochemistry and Climatology parameters.
