DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY PHYSIOLOGY AND BIOCHEMISTRY


The Department of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry was started in the year 2020 as a part of Veterinary College and Research Institute, Theni to offer quality education for undergraduate students in the discipline of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry as per Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education (MSVE, 2016) prescribed by Veterinary Council of India. Apart from this, the department is also involved in research and extension activities.

Objectives

  • To impart education in Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry for undergraduate students
  • To carry out research in Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry.


Education

As per the MSVE, 2016, the course of Veterinary Physiology and Veterinary Biochemistry courses are offered by the department

  • I Professional Year: Veterinary Physiology (Paper I and II) – 4 +1 credit hours
  • II Professional Year:o Veterinary Biochemistry (Paper I and II) – 2 +1 credit hours
