DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY ANATOMY


The Department of Veterinary Anatomy was created on 21.10.2020 as a part of Veterinary College and Research Institute, Theni with the aim of offering quality education to Undergraduate Students in the Subject of Veterinary Anatomy as per Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education (MSVE, 2016) and also to provide Research and Extension services to Undergraduate Students, Field Veterinarians and Farmers. The Department is also involved in Preparation of Skeleton of various animals and birds, wet and dry specimens, microscopic slides of various organs of different species for teaching and research purpose.

Objectives

  • To offer Undergraduate courses in Veterinary Anatomy
  • To provide technical knowledge to Students, Field Veterinarians and Farmers in anatomical aspects
  • To undertake research in the field of gross anatomy, microanatomy and developmental anatomy of domestic and wild animals and birds, and anatomical techniques


Education

As per the MSVE, 2016, the course of Veterinary Anatomy course is offered with 4+3 credit hours to the first-year B.V.Sc. & A.H. students.
