National level HRD Programmes

Clinical Human Resources Development

Advanced Clinical Training and Skill Development Programmes in the following specialized areas are organsied:

  • Orthopaedics
  • Canine breeding and artificial insemination.

These Programmes are conducted annualy for veterinary practitioners from across India.

International Level HRD Programmes

International Student Training and Externships

  • The Clinical Departments and the Teaching Hospitals offer clinical internship training programme to the international students. The infrastructure available attracts students from other countries to take up clinical internship training and study abroad programme.
  • The undergraduate students of Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Bangladesh go through their clinical internship training every year.
  • The study abroad programme is undertaken by students of USA, Malaysia, Germany, United Kingdom, Australia etc.

Outreach and Extension Activities

Mass Contact Programmes / Field Investigations

  • The Faculty of Clinical Departments have attended 26 health camps and 14 Mass Contact Programmes, 32 Field Investigations and infertility camps in all the constituent colleges of TANUVAS hospitals.
  • Eight Free Anti-rabies vaccination camps, one each at Madras Veterinary College, Veterinary University Peripheral Hospital, Madhavaram, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Namakkal, Tirunelveli, Orathanadu, Salem, Udumalpet and Theni, were conducted.

Radio and TV Programmes

  • Eleven Radio talks were broadcasted through All India Radio and Five Television talks at Chennai Namakkal, Orathanadu, Tirunelveli. Salem, Udumalpet and Theni.

Guest Lectures

  • Eighty seven guest lectures were delivered during various training programmes organized by the clinical departments of the University.
