DEPARTMENT OF FOOD PLANT OPERATIONS

Department of Food Plant Operations was started in the year 2018. This department has a Milk and Milk Product Processing Plant and Fruit & Vegetable Processing Plant utilized for In Plant training for undergraduate students; Hands on Training Programme for Entrepreneurs; and Experiential learning Programme for students.

Objectives

To impart engineering skills of food plant operations for the routine operation of the department.
To provide technical platform for experiential learning of the students

Thrust areas of Research:

Design and development of novel food processing equipment.

Extension

The Milk and Milk Product Processing Plant and Fruit, Vegetable Processing Plant and Noodle Processing Plant are being regularly used by entrepreneurs.
College and school students visiting CFDT are given a glimpse of food processing operations in the pilot plant.
