DEPARTMENT OF FOOD PLANT OPERATIONS


Department of Food Plant Operations was started in the year 2018. This department has a Milk and Milk Product Processing Plant and Fruit & Vegetable Processing Plant utilized for In Plant training for undergraduate students; Hands on Training Programme for Entrepreneurs; and Experiential learning Programme for students.

Objectives

  • To impart engineering skills of food plant operations for the routine operation of the department.
  • To provide technical platform for experiential learning of the students

Thrust areas of Research:

Design and development of novel food processing equipment.

Extension

  • The Milk and Milk Product Processing Plant and Fruit, Vegetable Processing Plant and Noodle Processing Plant are being regularly used by entrepreneurs.
  • College and school students visiting CFDT are given a glimpse of food processing operations in the pilot plant.
