DEPARTMENT OF DAIRY CHEMISTRY


The Department of Dairy Chemistry came into being during the year 2019 to specifically deal with production and processing related to chemistry of milk and milk products. At the time of inception, the department was mainly engaged in Under Graduate and Post Graduate teaching programme formulated by ICAR.

Objectives

Education:

To impart education related to chemistry of milk and milk products for undergraduate and postgraduate students

Research:

To conduct research on need based field and industry oriented problems

Extension:

To conduct training programmes and demonstrations on milk and milk products to the farmers, entrepreneurs, processors, rural youths and Self Help Group members

Education

As per the recommendations of the V Deans Committee of ICAR, New Delhi the Department is currently offering the courses to B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) students, for total instructional credits of 19 (12+7) and M.Tech. (Dairy Chemistry) students, for total instructional credits of 20 (14+6).
