DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY GYNAECOLOGY AND OBSTETRICS

The Department of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetricswas established on 17.05.2023 as a part of Veterinary College and Research Institute, Theni with the aim of offering quality education to Undergraduate Students in the Subject of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics as per Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education (MSVE, 2016) and also to provide Research and Extension services to Undergraduate Students, Field Veterinarians and Farmers.

Objectives

To offer Under-graduate (UG) education in the subject of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics
To treat various aspects of gynaecological and obstetrical cases in large, small ruminants and companion animals
To execute research on field-oriented issues and develop technologies on lab to land basis
To offer continuing Veterinary Education programmes to line department officials and practicing Veterinarians
To conduct reproductive health camps and to offer training programmes to the farmers as a part of extension activities
To function as an Animal Reproductive Referral unit for Theni district of Tamil Nadu
