The Department of Veterinary Microbiology was established in 573.46 square meter area and has three laboratories viz. Bacteriology and Mycology Lab, Virology Lab and Immunology Lab which are endowed with state-of-the-art facilities for education and research in Veterinary Microbiology and Biotechnology to aid in diagnosis of livestock and poultry diseases. Equipment worth of Rs. 64,40,461/- was purchased for teaching of undergraduate students, research and diagnostic purpose. The department focuses on offering quality education on Veterinary Microbiology to the undergraduate students as per the MSVE 2016. It renders the diagnostic services to the allied departments, field veterinarians and poultry farmers. Disease investigation is regularly carried out during outbreaks for diagnosis and suitable control and prevention measures are advised for the benefit of farming communities.
