The Livestock Farm Complex (LFC) has been established as per the guidelines of Veterinary Council of India to train the Under graduatestudents in the Livestock and Poultry farm activities.One Cattle shed, 2 Poultry Sheds, 3 Piggery sheds and one horse stable and Judging pavilion are available to accommodate the required numbers of the respective species to demonstrate Animal Production techniques in compliance with the Minimum Standard of Veterinary Education (MSVE 2016) of Veterinary Council of India.
Objectives
To impart hands-on training for undergraduate B.V.Sc& A.H students on various aspects of Livestock and poultry farming practices
To supply of genetically superior germplasm of Livestock and poultry to the farmers
To carry out theneed based specific research projects in Livestock and Poultry
To create awareness about the scientific rearing of livestock and poultry to the farming community
Cattle unit comprises of Jersey crossbred, Holstein Friesian crossbred and indigenous breed - Gir
Dairy cattle unit is equipped with rubbber mats in the covered area to provide anti slippery surface and comfort
Sprinklers are installed in the Cattle shed to alleviate heat stress in day time during peak summer.
Automatic milking machine is installed to enable clean milk production and to prevent udder infection
Parameters like birth weight, age at maturity, age at first calving, milk production, herd average, wet average and inter calving period are recorded in this unit

Large White Yorkshire pigs are being maintained under intensive system of rearing
Data on Litter size at birth and at weaning, litter size born alive, litter weight at birth and at weaning birth weight, weaning weight,market weight and mortality percentage of these animals are being recorded

Two Throughbred horses are being maintained for the purpose of teaching to undergraduate about handling, restraining and management of horses.

Poultry unit comprises both layer section and broiler section reared under deep litter and semi-intensive system
The data on growth rate, egg production, feed efficiency and livability are being recorded

Total 18.0 acres of fodder cafeteria has been earmarked to cater the need of fodder requirement of livestock housed at Livestock farm complex
Cultivation of grasses like Napier, Sorghum, Hedge Lucerne, Stylo, Subabul, Agathi and Glyricidia are being carried out
