Tree plantation programme was held at College of Poultry production and Management (CPPM), Hosur on 24.09.2021 in connection with National Service Scheme (NSS) day and also to commemorate the 75th year of India’s Independence. In this event one hundred and ten (110) tree saplings were planted in CPPM campus. Selvi. K.Karthikayani, I.F.S, District Forest Officer, Hosur, graced the occasion as chief guest and planted tree sapling in CPPM, Campus. The other dignitaries who have participated in this event are Dr. Rajendran, Regional Joint Director, Animal Husbandry Department, Krishnagiri District, Dr. A.Arul Raj, Deputy Director (Incharge), Distict Livestock Farm, Hosur, Dr.Ilavarasan, Assistant Director, Department of Animal Husbandry, Hosur division, Dr.Ravichandran, Clinician, Veterinary Poly Clinic, Hosur and Sri. Lakshmaiah, President, Nagondapalli Panchayat. Around fifty NSS Volunteers from both B.Tech (PT) and M.Tech (PT) along with staff of the college participated in tree saplings plantation like Tabebuia rosea (வசந்தராணி) and Alstonia scholaris (ஏழிலைப்பாலை) 55 each in the campus.
National Service Sheme unit of College of Poultry Production and Management, Hosur organized blood donation camp in association with Blood Bank, Government Hospital, Hosur, on 20.11.2021 at CPPM campus. Dr.J.Ramesh, Professor and Head and Former NSS In-charge, CPPM, Hosur welcomed the students and officials for blood donation camp and Dr.S.T. Selvan, Dean, CPPM Hosur inaugurated the camp with voluntarily donating his blood to the bank. Before starting the camp, Dr.Mahesh, Medical Officer, Blood Bank, Government Hospital, Hosur briefed the importance of donating the blood at regular interval to save the lives of poor and needy people and also he has clear the myths and doubts related to donating the blood. During the event around 32 students and faculties have donated their blood voluntarily to the Blood Bank, Hosur. The Medical Officer, Blood Bank, Hosur gave away the certificates to the blood donors.
As a part of enhancing immunity among the inmates of CPPM, Hostel, faculties and staff of CPPM, Hosur against Covid-19 a Kabasura Kudinner Distribution camp was organized at CPPM campus by the National Service Scheme unit of College of Poultry Production and Management, Hosur on 18.02.2022. The Kabasura Kudineer distribution programme was inauguarated by Dr.S.T.Selvan, Dean, CPPM, Hosur. In this programme around 150 students, faculties and staff were benefited by consuming Kabasura Kudineer and thanked the NSS Unit of CPPM, Hosur for arranging this wonderful event since this program is considered as need of the hour to enhance the immunity among the students and staff of CPPM, Hosur.
To save the environment and making CPPM, Hosur, plastic free campus the National Service Scheme unit of College of Poultry Production and Management, Hosur carried out the NSS activities by utilizing the services of the NSS volunteers and removed the plastics in CPPM campus at regular intervals during their course of study. As a part of this program the students, faculties and staff of this college were sensitized about the harmful effects of continuous use of plastics in our day to day life and its impact on environment. Due to this awareness camp conducted by NSS Unit of CPPM, the students and staff started avoiding the use of plastics in their day to day life to safeguard our Mother Land “the Earth” as a safe place for our future generations.
