3. NADP SCHEME ON "POPULARIZING MODEL FODDER SEED BANK AT FARMERS' FIELD TO AUGMENT FODDER PRODUCTION"

4. CENTRAL SECTOR SCHEME ON BIOTECH CENTRE FOR FECUNDITY GENES

Objectives

  • Establishment of Biotech laboratory at PGRIAS, Kattupakkam
  • Genotyping of Fec B gene in 8 sheep breeds of Tamil Nadu
  • Introgression of Fec B gene in Madras Red, Mecheri and Nilagiri breeds of sheep

Extension

  • Offers advisory services, hands-=on training cum lectures to practicing farmers, entrepreneurs and sale superior germplasm to the farming community

Education

  • Imparting internship training on scientific livestock farming to the internees of Madras Veterinary College and Veterinary College and Research Institute, Namakkal
  • Offer guidance to the postgraduate and Ph.D. students to carry out research work in livestock and poultry
