National Academic Depository (NAD) Cell – TANUVAS


National Academic Depository (NAD) has been established as a unique digital initiative to ensure 24 x 7 digital and safe electronic storehouse of all academic awards viz., certificates, degrees, diplomas, mark sheets, etc. It allows the academic institutions to lodge academic awards which are authenticated and validated. Maintaining academic awards in a digital depository would provide benefit to academic institutions, students and employers by enabling online access and retrieval eliminate fraudulent practices such as forging of certificates and mark sheets and facilitate validation. University Grants Commission (UGC) is the authorized implementing body of NAD in co-operation with Digilocker. Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University is registered member of NAD. The NAD Cell was constituted with Nodal officer and members from various academic units of TANUVAS and is involved the process of uploading certificates of TANUVAS students. As on March 2020, 906 certificates were uploaded in NAD portal. An orientation programme on NAD was conducted for TANUVAS staff on 02.03.2020 at Madras Veterinary College, Chennai. The uploaded certificates are safely kept, ready to be downloaded and could be verified / authenticated anywhere any time. All the students are requested to register in the NAD portal without fail. The students can retrieve all the certificates uploaded by the University using their NAD ID in future.
